HISTORY OF OUR SCHOOL

The Friedensburg High School (FOS) was founded in 1975 as a comprehensive school for grades 7 to 10 in a 10-speed school with up to 1200 students. The first year of secondary school graduation began in 1998 with 25 students, today every year about 100 high school graduates do their exams here. In the 1990s, the school had a self-recruitment of the upper level of about 50%, this year it is about 90%. The FOS is now one of the most sought after schools in the district.

In 2003, FOS has turned to the  "Staatliche Europa-Schule Berlin" (SESB) with the German-Spanish profile. The SESB now comprises almost half of the student population (making it the largest secondary school in the SESB profile in Berlin). Today, graduates of the SESB often have top results in school graduation exams, and their cultural milieus have significantly expanded the circle of institutions that partner up with the school.

The school structural reform from 2010 opened up the possibility of completely redesigning ourselves: the external performance differentiation according to the obligatory FEGA system was replaced by a graduated system of internal differentiation with graduation-oriented elements. The occupational orientation was designed to be a school-specific concept, which has since met with great interest nationwide.
